Join us for a fun yet educational experience where you'll gain confidence and skill in selecting wines, all while helping benefit Dawn's Place - a safe home and trauma recovery program for survivors of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. You'll learn from a Certified Advanced Sommelier the common wine myths and facts regarding:


  • How to choose wine at a restaurant

  • How to read a wine label

  • How much should I spend on a bottle of wine?

  • How do I buy wine for a group of people?

  • What do I bring to a party or have for a gathering?

  • Corks vs. screw caps

  • Decanting vs. not decanting

  • Wine and cheese pairing.


ABOUT DAWN'S PLACE


Dawn’s Place is Philadelphia’s first residential recovery home for sex trafficking survivors. We help them to begin to live life on their own terms.


Since our founding in 2007, Dawn’s Place has been at the forefront of providing direct services for women recovering from the trauma of sexual exploitation. Our year-long residential program combines intensive therapy with a proven program providing adult survivors with the opportunity to learn how to become self-supporting and live independently.


We offer:

• two safe homes with 24-7 monitored security and on-site caregivers.

• a personalized recovery plan that includes on-site therapy and access to off-site programs.

• a chance to learn life and social skills.

• access to a staff case manager as well as pro bono legal aid.

• after-care services for six months.
