Dawn's Place Celebrates 15 Years of Empowerment with 'Artiversary' Celebration

Dawn's Place, a safe haven for survivors of sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation, is delighted to announce the celebration of its 15th Anniversary with a special 'Artiversary’ Buffet and Cocktail Reception and Art Auction. The event will take place on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Flourtown Country Club 150 McCloskey Road, Flourtown, PA.

Dawn’s Place 'Artiversary' promises an evening of elegance and empowerment, featuring a casual chic buffet prepared by the renowned Sage and Seedling Caterers. Attendees will be treated to a delectable spread that complements the atmosphere of celebration.

During the event, Executive Director, Sister Meaghan Patterson, SSJ will present the “Founders’ Award” to community environmental advocate, Stephen J. Luxton, CEO of the Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA), and Dawn’s Place Board Member and volunteer, Mary Ellen Marzullo. The award recognizes the distinguished work on behalf of sex trafficking survivors and honors our four founders: Mary DeFusco, Esq.; Sister Kathleen Coll, SSJ; Sister Terry Shields, MSHR; and Sister Teresita Hinnegan, MMS.

The highlight of the evening will be an art auction showcasing original pieces contributed by survivors, supporters, and incarcerated individuals, emphasizing the power of art as a means of expression and healing. This unique collection will not only provide a platform for creativity but also serve as a testament to the resilience and strength of those who have overcome adversity.

Guests will have the opportunity to partake in a lively cocktail reception, fostering connections and conversations around the crucial issue of human trafficking. Additionally, 50/50 tickets will be available, offering attendees the chance to contribute to Dawn's Place while also having the opportunity to win exciting prizes.

Adding a touch of whimsy to the 'Artiversary,' a talented caricature portrait artist will be on-site, capturing the essence of the celebration in personalized keepsakes for attendees.

Dawn's Place extends a warm invitation to the community, supporters, and advocates to join in this momentous occasion. By attending the 'Artiversary,' guests not only mark the 15 years of impactful work by Dawn's Place but also contribute to the ongoing mission of empowering survivors and combating human trafficking.

Tickets and sponsorships for the event can be purchased on the Dawn's Place website at www.ahomefordawn.org/artiversary.
